Step 1

Planning a shoot

The creation of new moments to be cemented in Hagen Fine Art Photography history starts with extensive research, planning and preparation. We are constantly listening for where we are Called to next. God has done all the work in His Creation, we just go and try to bring it in doors to reconnect people with it in a meaningful way, while using also using it as a medium to effect positive change in the world.

Step 2

The shoot

Being on the trail of a new Piece has taken us far beyond our comfort zones to some wild places. Patience, receptivity, adaptability, faith and hope are necessary for success. Once we're out there, our natural human inclinations for awe of Creation lead us to moments matched with excellent composition, color saturation, contrast, symmetry (or lack there of), and narrative importance. When these stars align, a new Edition is one step closer to being uncovered and ready for display.

Step 3

Post processing

Once off trail and back in the land of electricity and computers, the refining of raw material can begin. If we have been blessed with special moments, then Lightroom (an homage to the Dark Rooms of the past where our craft historically developed) is fired up and the rough-around-the-edges .RAW files are filtered, corrected for accuracy and artistic expression and hopefully after many hours, there are a few worthy of presenting.

These are then Titled and Descriptions are written with much discernment to convey the beauty we wish to share (by hand, no AI here). A new Limited Edition Fine Art Piece has now been added to the Gallery for Good.

Step 4

Production

After proofing, our final stage of production happens at the time the order is placed. Our trusted, local, expert print shop produces each numbered piece to the size and material specifications of its new owner. Once produced, Matt goes to the shop to give the final Inspection, Signing, Numbering and Seal of Approval with Authentication Documents and an Info Card for display before it is shipped out.

The Piece is then Professionally packaged with care and sent out to its new Home, after many hours and days in the making.
